seven oaks espresso blend
At Inland Empire Coffee we still consider ourselves students of the bean despite our many years in the business. The craft of blending coffees is one of our ongoing ever changing projects. For example, we've discovered that during the course of a season, a coffee can display a variety of characteristics. That dynamic flavor notes can be enhanced, overshadowed, or balanced by other coffees, make the blending of coffees quite an exciting challenge. And then there is the brewing apparatus. How will the coffee be brewed? Coffee through an espresso machine is intensified and concentrated, while a slow brew conveys the higher, more delicate nuances.

Blend Notes
In the case of Seven Oaks Espresso Blend, we've blended a coffee that satisfies as a slow-filter brew as well as in espresso preparations. The idea was to take some of our favorite coffees and showcase their versatility in a blend. The three coffees in this blend have similarities such as medium to heavy body that responds well different brewing methods. They also have their unique characteristics as a result of completely different growing conditions and cultivars.
The Seven Oaks Blend is one of the few coffees we roast to the espresso stage. We blend these coffee beans while still green. The intention is to allow the roaster to marry the flavors as it roasts.
Cupping Notes
